TRAVELING TRAINERS
The following list of trainers is composed of members of the Training Division of IFTA who are willing to abide by the principles of the Traveling Trainers Program, teaching without an honorarium. Funding from the Division for travel is available for these or other trainers chosen by the program applying to Traveling Trainers. Travel grants will be made to programs in countries in need of assistance in developing family therapy training. ANITA BARDIN - Israel
Training Experience: Developed training programs, trained and supervised in Israel; presented in the USA.
Areas of Concentration: Basic systemic family therapy, family diagnosis, use of self, couple therapy, work with adolescents.

LINDA BELL, Ph.D., LMFT, ABPP (Family Psychology) - USA
Training Experience: Taught family therapy over a six-year period in Japan and created and directed an accredited family therapy training program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, USA.
Areas of Concentration: mindfulness/meditation supported therapy, family sculpting, family therapist’s family of origin, family sculpting.

AUDREY ELLENWOOD, Ph.D. – USA
Training Experience: Presented in USA, South Africa, Holland, Mexico.
Areas of Concentratioin: Adjustment issues for Immigrant families, working with cultural differences in family therapy, systemic. strategic and structural approaches in family therapy, brief family therapy approaches, working with families with a chronically ill member, family therapy in schools.

JOHN FRYKMAN - USA
Training Experience: Participated in MRI’s Brief Therapy Project, Organized Cypress Institute, served as Clinical Supervisor in several settings 1991 - present. Presented trainings in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland,Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, France, Korea, The Philippines, Canada, Mexico, Ethiopia, India, Italy, Switzerland and Greece.

STEPHEN MADIGAN, MSW, Msc, PhD - Canada
Training Experience: Founded a narrative therapy training center, taught family therapy in a wide variety of government agencies, non-profit agencies, universities, school boards, hospitals. Received the Distinguished Award for Innovative Practice from the American Family Therapy Academy. Currently under contract with the American Psychological Association to write a primer for Narrative therapy. Have conducted training in USA, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, England, Ireland, Scotland, Austria, Germany, Uganda and South Africa.
Areas of Concentration: couple and family therapy, child and family, trauma, eating disorders, youth issues, depression, anxiety, substance misuse.

PHOEBE PROSKY, MSW - USA
Training Experience: Faculty of the Ackerman Institute in New York for 12 years. Founded and directs a family therapy training program and clinic in Maine, founded and co-ordinates IFTA’s Training Division, co-edited a book on family therapy as an alternative to medication, author of numerous articles and chapters on family therapy. Presented in Canada, USA, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, England, Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, Norway, Iceland, Turkey and Israel.
Areas of Concentration: Couples theory and therapy, seeing families through the divorce process, the family after divorce, family therapy practiced with an emphasis on the use of intuition, drawing on Zen principles for the practice of family therapy, family sculpting as a language of systems, family therapy as an alternative to medication.
